Community Civic Campus, Ph 2 | South San Francisco

$0.00

The Civic Community Campus will be completed in phases and is located along El Camino Real in South San Francisco. Phase 2 includes a new 3-level 83,000 SF Library and Parks & Recreation building on a 6.5-acre site. The project will include a 200-space parking lot and a 1.3-acre public park when completed.

The new library is constructed over an existing cut and cover BART tunnel. A monitoring plan was prepared to provide existing conditions documentation and monitoring of the structure during construction to ensure that existing infrastructure near the development was not impacted. Automated total stations and vibration sensors were installed in the BART tunnels before the start of construction to measure and record baseline readings. During construction, the instrumentation collected measurements of the tunnel structures and trackway to confirm no movement occurred and that construction vibration levels stayed below the established thresholds. Cellular connectivity wirelessly transmitted the measurement data to the secure cloud platform for review by authorized users, and weekly summary reports were distributed to the project team.

Scope of Services:

  • Provided Construction and Transportation Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Measuring for Settlement/Displacement and Vibration

  • Utilizing Automated Total Stations, 3D scanning, and Vibration Sensors

  • Monitoring surface infrastructure, support of excavation shoring, existing BART tunnels, and trackways.

  • Services included System Planning, System Commissioning, Monitoring Support, Reporting
